Calle Real - Ábreme la puerta

This band is a salsa, timba sorta music, so its not my kind
but it was kinda groovy tunes that they had.

Calle Real its prenouced Caje´Reall.
Saturday night they visited Tyrol in Stockholm
infront of a very much dancinfg crowd.

They are very famous in France, usually they play
for a crowd of 30.000 peeps. Now thats something!

Calle Real is a Timba band from Sweden founded in 1999. Calle Real is now twelve guys who play modern timba with distinctive pop influences. Its well arranged and tightly played music for the club scene. Theres a definite heavy groove with a sound that differs from the masses.

Several of them have spent long periods in Cuba and have studied music, although no one in the band is actually Cuban except Rickard Valdés, who is the son of the legendary pianist Bebo Valdés and who is half Cuban. There are a variety of ethnic origins within the band, including Patricio Sobrado who has his origins in Chile and the trumpet player, Jacek Onuskiewicz and the trombone player, Cezary Tomaszewski originate in Poland, but all of them grew up in Sweden.

Ladys and Gents, may I present to U, CALLE REAL.

Enjoy!

A song I heard some years ago, that i really liked.
So much heart, feeling and ROCK and the same time.
It was released as the lead single from their
fourth studio album The Distance to Here in 1999.
This song was co-produced by Jerry Harrison of Talking Heads,
who also assisted the band in producing their first two albums.

This special concert have so much LIVE in it!!

Kowalczyk, Taylor, Dahlheimer, and Gracey first came
together for a middle-school talent show in the town of York.

Live climbed from modest modern rock success to the mainstream
spotlight worldwide on the strength of their 1994
breakthrough album, Throwing Copper,
which has sold 8 million copies in the US

The members of Live have announced that the band will
be taking a two-year hiatus as they work on other projects.

Coldplay - Violet Hill

Coldplay are an English alternative rock band formed in 1998. The group comprises Chris Martin (lead vocals, keyboards, guitar), Jonny Buckland (lead guitar), Guy Berryman (bass guitar), and Will Champion (drums, backing vocals, other instruments).

Coldplay is a band that have been growing bigger and bigger for every year, last year Coldplay played at the Globe in Stockholm, yesterday they came back for a bigger show at the Stadion. The guys have now more material that suits arena shows, the stage is bigger, more lights and other effects, even if Chris had a little ongoing cold that could trouble up his voice. The gig was amazing, Chris runned around as a sugarrushed 5 year old kid, the lighting show was marvelous and the band delivered thier hits. The pompous atmosphere breaks down with a acoustic set on a little stage with harmonica and a Billie Jean tune from Michael Jackson.
The show ends up with huge fireworks and Coldplay thanks for this time and tells that they will be giving away a live CD when the show is over, the CD entitled LeftRightLeftRightLeft. The album is also available as a free download from their website. The nine tracks were recorded at various shows during the tour.

Todays tune "Violet Hill" is the first anti-war protest song from the band, and it borrows its rhythm from British band The Beatles. "Violet Hill" derives its title from a street of the same name near Abbey Road.

Juliette Lewis And The Licks - Hot Kiss

Juliette Lewis is more known to us all from her
intense characters in films like
"Cape Fear" and "Natural Born Killer"

We could hear her sing in PJ Harveys "Hardly Wait" in the
film "Strange days" in 1995.
One couldnt guess that 8 years later formed
Juliette Lewis & The and became kind of dangerous
rock´n´roll-version of her most popular characterpart Mallory Knox.

Ive picked a tune from "Four on the Floor" that is the second
album by Juliette and the Licks.
Before this album began production both Jason Morris, drummer,
and Paul Ill, bassist, left the band for more 'studio-based' work.
Both Walters and Morse recorded bass and Dave Grohl recorded the drums.
The new live drummer is Ed Davis.

She is comming to Sweden, Berns on the 31th of October.
Both me and Stones are going to be there!

Cheers, Thetania

This is a Swedish rock band formed in fall 1998.

Mustasch was formed on the island Orust in Sweden in 1998, and recorded a demo which was released on different record labels around the world in small numbers. In 2000 they released their first EP The True Sound of the New West.

What u might missed was that they choosed the name Mustasch because many of their musical heroes had mustaches for example Freddie Mercury from Queen and Tony Iommi from Black Sabbath. :)

2008 they released the album Lowlife Highlights its a
bit darker than the other once but thats just my opinion,
Im not really done listening to it yet :)
On the 17 of October AEG Live arrange a concert with
Mustasch at Annexet in Stockholm.

Do come and take a peak they are fantastic live!

I picked this tune from their second album Ratsafari.

Head bang folks!

Madonna - Die another day

Madonna is in Sweden today, in Gothenburg so Stones will be able to see her..sob..

This enormous strong woman who survived all the trash
that have been trowed at her.
I admire that a lot, all artists needs this in order to grow and continue to grow
and grow even a bit more!!

Her birth name is Madonna Louise Ciccone and she was born in Bay City, Michigan 1958 and raised in Rochester Hills, Michigan, she moved to New York City in 1977, for a career in modern dance. This we can see on her marvelous dance parts.

In 1984 she got a hit with Like a virgin.
Madonna joined the Jewish mystic religion Kabbalah in 1994 after the release of her album Bedtime Stories. She has spoken about the influence of the religion on her and donated millions of dollars for schools based on the religion, around New York and London. Madonna and her dancers weared a t-shirt with "Kabbalists Do It Better" on it :)

Ah well, enjoy this tune from a James Bond movie with the same name
that was released in 2002, the song was later included
on her 2003 album, "American Life"

Love Thetania for Stones :)

to the audience, but I do loved her sence of humor!!!

This kinda music doesnt really communicate to me but its pretty fun anyways :p

U2 - Breathe

A new day and a new tune, got kinda hocked with the U2 tune yesterday so i couln't resist to add one more. This is the tune is from thier latest album "No Line on the Horizon" and it's the twelfth studio album. This is also the tune that they open up the U2 360° Tour!

As i said yesterday they had a huge stage, the tour features a 360-degree staging configuration with fans surrounding the stage from all sides. The idea for a 360-degree staging with some initial design suggestions had been proposed to the band by the set designer, Willie Williams, at the end of the Vertigo Tour in 2006. At 50 meters (165 feet) tall, the stage is the largest ever constructed and twice the size of the previous largest set, which was used on The Rolling Stones' A Bigger Bang Tour.

Enjoy todays tune!

Here is the Setlists from the both nights!

U2 - One

This weekend U2 played in Gothenburg, Once again they visit Sweden and once again they bring a bigger stage than last time.
And i must say, this spider stage that they use is HUGE, i belive it was made for HUGE arenas so it looks enormous in Ullevi Stadion.
Didnt see this tour, would like to have been there as the reviews was superb in all newspapers, but you can't see everything :)
Hopefully i will be able to see it next year.
Anyway, i will get enough music next week!

Here is some picture of the stage in Gothenburg.

Foto's by "Daniel Williams"

So why not dedicade a tune for all the U2 lovers out there.
Here is classic "One"

"One" was the third single from U2's 1991 album, Achtung Baby.

The song is widely considered to be one of the band's greatest songs and is consistently featured in lists of the greatest songs of all time.

Enjoy!

"At the instant we were recording it, I got a very strong sense of its power. We were all playing together in the big recording room, a huge, eerie ballroom full of ghosts of the war, and everything fell into place. It was a reassuring moment, when everyone finally went, 'oh great, this album has started.' It's the reason you're in a band - when the spirit descends upon you and you create something truly affecting. 'One' is an incredibly moving piece. It hits straight into the heart.

— The Edge on the recording of "One"

Miles Davis - Time After Time

"Time After Time" was a single by singer Cyndi Lauper, the second from her album She's So Unusual. It reached number one on the U.S. charts on June 9, 1984, and remained there for two weeks. Worldwide, the song is her most commercially successful single after "Girls Just Want to Have Fun".

Lauper co-wrote "Time After Time" with Philadelphia rocker Rob Hyman of The Hooters, who also supplied backup vocals to the song. She indicated much of the lyrics were written about occurrences in the studio and her life at the time. The line "the second hand unwinds" referred to producer Rick Chertoff's watch which was winding backwards.

You're Under Arrest is a 1985 album recorded by Miles Davis that saw Miles mix pop tunes with political statements about racism, pollution and war. Among other tracks, the album featured Davis' interpretations of two contemporary pop songs: Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time" and Michael Jackson's "Human Nature".

Todays tune is recorded at Molde, Norway, 1984. Some history about the night in Molde, on the concert day, Miles was sick from food poisoning, and stuck in Paris!
A Falcon jet was hired, and flew him up. He started to get better, He visited a jazzclub at his hotel, with Elvin Jones playing, and he got into the right mood. The concert started at 01.00 AM, and is later known as "The Miracle Concert" or "The Midnite Sabbath". "Time after Time" was the highlight of this sabbath with Miles. With John Scofield, Bob Berg, Al Foster, Bobby Erwing and Darryl Jones. Enjoy!

Hoobastank - The Reason

This tune Im doing for a neighbor Johnny, that just got 40.
I do like this as well ;)

This is California band formed in Angoura Hills.
They begun 1994.

Hoobastank is a very weird name, Doug Robb said the name had no particular meaning: "You're going to ask me what it means. It doesn't mean anything. And it's really cool, it's one of those old high school inside-joke words that didn't really mean anything

2004 they got a real hit with this tune.

Ah well...I just left the neighbors party and im a bit drunk and ...yeah.. :)
Here we are..

Hoobastank!!!

Much Much Love to you all , Thetania
