Kent - 999

After the Opera at the Culture Festival, did the sail turn against Sjöhistoriska, where Kent would play. With a 4 trailer big production should share the outdoor stage, I felt a slightly crowded at first thought, but the stage swallowed everything with its gigantic maw.

Kent really has a wonderful touring crew, where Robban Roos holds the flag flying and steering the ship with an iron hand, techniques such as Brenge, Masse and Turbo makes the day floating on, a really nice trio who always share nice tour stories.

At the beginning of the concert at Sjöhistoriska intrudes Jocke Berg, Sami Sirviö, Martin Sköld and Markus Mustonen in a small rehearsal room, complete with idols of the three temporary and provisional walls, built up on the stage. It is clearly a very striking scenographic detail, a back-to-basics-setting that turns the usually large gestures.

Kent is perhaps one of Sweden's most natural arena rockpop band today, doing a show that is very stylish, good mix of their catalog where even the newer songs fits in as the classic Kent, such as "Music Non Stop" & "747" . The sound is really good, the light is gorgeous, Uffe has certainly got the right toys to work with, it is stylish and harmonious. To sum it all, a nice evening at Sjöhistoriska, though it was a dash of rain.

Kent is a Swedish alternative rock band founded in Eskilstuna in 1990, with the name Coca-Cola Kids, later Jones & Giftet, and Havsänglar. The band's logo is distinctive, using a lowercase "k" and the ITC Avant Garde Gothic Book typeface.

The band has had several big Swedish radio hits since the breakthrough single "Kräm (så nära får ingen gå)", from their second studio album. They are one of the most popular rock groups in Sweden, and describe themselves as "Sweden's biggest rock band", but are more or less unknown outside Scandinavia. Kent briefly attempted an international career with English versions of the albums Isola and Hagnesta Hill and an accompanying American tour for the former, but they gave up after failing to achieve the breakthrough they had hoped for.

Kent has released nine studio albums, sold over two million records and has won 20 Swedish Grammy Awards. "VinterNoll2" is an unlockable track in Career Mode on Guitar Hero World Tour. Kent recently got their own Singstar called SingStar Kent released on Play Station 2 and 3.
